Facebook Hack Password Online Hack Tool 2012 (new )

Based on claims made via Zuckerberg's own Twitter account, the LinkedIn data breach was to blame for the breach of Zuckerberg's accounts. Last month, LinkedIn confirmed that the 2012 data breach, which revealed email and password combinations, had compromised about 117 million accounts in addition to the 6.5 million passwords previously reported to have been stolen. Though LinkedIn is working to invalidate the passwords, username and password combinations have already been exposed. If users employed the same password across their online accounts, millions more accounts could be at risk.

The Yahoo breach comes on the back of reports earlier this week of a leak affecting social networking site Formspring, which reported that 420,000 password hashes belonging to Formspring users had been posted to a hacking forum.

But sometimes using Facebook as an investigative tool goes too far for a judge. A 12- year-old Minnesota student was recently found to have had her First and Fourth amendment rights violated when her school demanded she turn over her Facebook password. School officials wanted to search her account for "inappropriate" messages after she had bad-mouthed a hall monitor online. Likewise, a California court shot down the Home Depot's request for access to a former employee's social network posts.

After almost a decade of increasingly sophisticated and large data breaches, hackers are sitting on a huge amount of information about you and me, literally hundreds of millions of records---our names, passwords, contacts, account numbers, and everything else needed to destroy a person's professional and financial life. They know where we live, and they can drain bank accounts, turn off the lights and max out our credit cards with the tap of a key. And what's to stop a consortium of like-minded anti-everythings from hitting that key?

Also, some email providers (I know Yahoo, for sure was this way in the past and probably still is) get "hacked" constantly. There is really no hacking involved in the sense you are familiar with. The security measures to reset the email password involve using some handy security question that is supposed to be personal. With as much information as people post around the internet nowadays, you can find the answers to most peoples' security questions without much effort. So every time you change the password, they simply use the reset tool and change it right back to whatever they like.
