PROBLEM DOWNLOADING NIGHT EFFECTS THIRD PARTY SCRIPTS AND INSTALLING IN PAINT SHOP PRO 2018 Adam, Thank you for your prompt response to my question. I followed your instructions re: downloading and saving the 3 scripts in my name\documents\paintshoppro\2018\restricted-scripts. Did the same thing for the 2 plugins except used plug ins at end as the extension. Opened PSP 2018 and file\preferences\file locations and then browsed until I found documents\PSP\2018\restricted-scrips and selected. Depressed OK. Then went to the script toolbar and to where night scripts should be and nothing was there under that name. I still have PSP 9 (2015 version) loaded and this does the same in both PSP programs. Should I delete PSP 9? Today I downloaded two of the free scrips offered weekly by Corel. Both had the same problem as the Night Effects download in PSP and did not appear under scripts and work with PSP.

I've had trouble finding threads about such an old version of PSP so I hope no one minds if I reply to this one. I have a completely different problem than has been discussed here. I have an original CD of Paint Shop Pro 8 (32 bit) that I bought several years ago. It has always worked great and has always been my primary graphics tool, which I use mostly for pasting screenshots and saving them as JPGs, plus mundane things like resizing, cropping, creating collages, and flipping orientations. I have installed this product on every PC I've ever owned since I got it, including my current HP (a several-yr-old 17" touchscreen laptop that has an i7 CPU with 16GB of RAM and a 1.5TB hdd with about 250GB available). My laptop came with Win7 Pro (I shopped for a leftover Win7 laptop because I hated Win10 from the start), and I did the free upgrade to Win10 Pro only when they announced they would stop supporting Win7. Prior to two Win10 updates ago, my PSP8 always worked fine. Then it suddenly decided it would no longer load unless I double-clicked the desktop icon (the PSP Task Bar icon stopped working altogether) and then an error msg would pop up demanding I insert the CD, but it wouldn't recognize the CD and kept showing the error message. I finally figured out I could simply click Cancel in the error msg and then the program would load and run fine. But then Windows did another update, and since then PSP will no longer run at all. When I double-click the icon, it will load the same error message, and when I click the Cancel button the program's gray background will appear, but it hangs and hangs and hangs, never finishes loading, and I can't even quit it except by using the Task Manager to End the task. The CD does nothing. I get it that I'm running a 32-bit app on a 64-bit PC, but it ran fine for 5 years, so what has changed to break it, and how do I fix it? I don't want a newer version because this version does everything I need (and quite a bit I don't need). I downloaded GIMP and have been using that, but as someone else said in one of these forums, GIMP is bloated and clunky and has a really bad interface, especially for doing the simple things I want to do. Saving a screenshot as a JPG in GIMP requires "exporting" the file and takes about 10 times as long (and 10 times as many clicks) as the same task used to in PSP. This is very frustrating! Why does PSP suddenly no longer run? What can I do about it? Any ideas? As an aside, at the same time as PSP stopped working, WordPad started taking about 30 seconds to load where before it used to load in about 5 seconds. Any chance it's related? Sorry if you think I hijacked this thread, but I don't know where else to post it.
